The Belgravia Forum provides a powerful opportunity for us to have a say and make a difference in our community.
It gives a voice to residents, businesses and institutions on Belgravia’s unique character and exciting future – on new businesses and shops, housing and developments: where they should go and what they should look like. Belgravia’s elegant streets and gardens have seen change throughout the centuries; now it is time for the people who live and work here to be in charge of its transition into the 21st century.
Through consultation with the community of Belgravia, we hope to promote high standards of planning in all its aspects, sustainable development, improved public realm and a vibrant and committed local community.
THE neighbourhood PLAN
The aim is to create a PLAN. The Localism Act 2011 gives local communities the powers to establish statutory planning policies for the use and development of land and buildings within belgravia.
We are preparing the plan which can be seen here. In this plan we will need to take into account current issues such as the future of the coach station, the redevelopments around Victoria, subterranean development, the impact of Crossrail 2 and the ongoing development of Chelsea Barracks.
We will also consider public realm, neighbourhood management, licensing, parking, community infrastructure and even policing and crime. This is the moment for those who care about this historic area to join together to preserve its beauty and distinctive character for the future generations to come.
